Jevonya was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in October 1979. When she was three, her parents moved to Providence, Rhode Island, seeking a better life for her and her older sibling. At the age of five, Jevonya's father taught her to play chess, fostering her strategic thinking skills. Her mother, who ran her own home daycare, instilled in Jevonya the importance of self-sufficiency and entrepreneurship. Jevonya had the opportunity to work alongside her mother for many years.
Jevonya attended the top high school in Rhode Island, and she attended the University of Rhode Island, where she obtained a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. She later earned a Master's degree in Education from the University of Phoenix.
Jevonya embarked on her entrepreneurial journey in 2009, which led her to create Twisted Networking in 2017. As the Creator and Chief Visionary Officer of Twisted Networking, Jevonya is dedicated to facilitating welcoming, engaging, and introvert-friendly networking events. In less than five years, Twisted Networking became an internationally recognized business organization, hosting attendees from the US, Canada, the UK, Sweden, Peru, Africa, Malaysia, and several other countries. One of Jevonya's missions is to empower individuals to harness the power of networking to achieve their personal and professional goals.
In 2020, Jevonya became a certified business consultant, and in 2021 she self-published her first book, The Introvert's Guide to Becoming a Master Networker. Drawing from her extensive experience and expertise, the book provides valuable insights and practical strategies for introverts to excel in networking. The Introvert’s Guide to Becoming a Master Networker is garnering much publicity as a must-read for entrepreneurs, startups, small business owners, network marketers, and sales teams.
